Beef Fried Rice

I made ‘OK only lah’ beef fried rice. It’s easy to prepare and I’m sure that many of you out there would make better fried rice. But this is how I made my beef fried rice.

Marinate thinly cuts of beef in garlic, ginger, worchestershire sauce, soya sauce, black pepper.
Fry the beef till done and set aside.
In a wok, sautee garlic, crack in an egg, add cooked rice, beef and boiled mixed vegetables. Season with salt and white pepper. I belive at the shops they also use chicken seasoning - those stock granules. That would make it tastier. I also added a bit of soya sauce to the cracked egg before stirring it into the rice, hence the dark-coloured rice.
Serve with fresh salad, cucumber slices, and a side of whatever sambal you have. I have bottled lemon chilli sauce from Taho.

The best thing about this is that it’s a one-dish meal and both the children love it. The bigger one loves the beef as it’s so tender. The younger one – well, he eats whatever is shoved into his mouth so come to think of it, that doesn’t count. Anyway, if you have extra beef and don’t know what to do with them, stir fry them into rice. They cost about $4.50 at your local kopitiam but you can feed a family of six if you make them at home. ;p
